چکیده

Multimedia event detection has become a popular research topic due to the explosive growth of video data. The motion features in a video are often used to detect events because an event may contain some specific actions or moving patterns. Raw motion features are extracted from the entire video first and then aggregated to form the final S. Phan ( ) · T. D. However, this video-based representation approach is ineffective when used for realistic videos because the video length can be very different and the clues for determining an event may happen in only a small segment of the entire video. In this paper, we propose using a segment-based approach for video representation. Basically, original videos are divided into segments for feature extraction and classification, while still keeping the evaluation at the video level. The experimental results on recent TRECVID Multimedia Event Detection datasets proved the effectiveness of our approach.

Semantic Indexing and Multimedia Event Detection: ECNU at TRECVID 2012

1 Abstract This year we participated in two tasks: Semantic Indexing (SIN) and Multimedia Event Detection (MED). In this paper, we present our approaches and discuss the evaluation results. Semantic Indexing (SIN): For video semantic indexing, we focus on the performance improvement by using a Weighted Hamming Embedding kernel compared with traditional BoW approaches. Below are the brief descri...

Proposing an effective approach for Network security and multimedia documents classically using encryption and watermarking

Local binary pattern (LBP) operators, which measure the local contrast within a pixel's neighborhood, successfully applied to texture analysis, visual inspection, and image retrieval. In this paper, we recommend a semi blind and informed watermarking approach. The watermark has been built from the original image using Weber Law. The approach aims is to present a high robustness and imperceptibi...

Inter-correlative Histogram Feature and Dimension Reduction for Content Based Multimedia Retrieval

Information retrieval based on motion descriptions in multimedia application has gained lot of importance and interest in the recent past. Content Based Multimedia Retrieval (CBMR) system retrieves the multimedia data based on the content of given multimedia query. That is, for a given motion query, relevant multimedia are to be retrieved. Here, an approach of human action detection and localiz...

Application of Combined Local Object Based Features and Cluster Fusion for the Behaviors Recognition and Detection of Abnormal Behaviors

In this paper, we propose a novel framework for behaviors recognition and detection of certain types of abnormal behaviors, capable of achieving high detection rates on a variety of real-life scenes. The new proposed approach here is a combination of the location based methods and the object based ones. First, a novel approach is formulated to use optical flow and binary motion video as the loc...

Determining Effective Features for Face Detection Using a Hybrid Feature Approach

Detecting faces in cluttered backgrounds and real world has remained as an unsolved problem yet. In this paper, by using composition of some kind of independent features and one of the most common appearance based approaches, and multilayered perceptron (MLP) neural networks, not only some questions have been answered, but also the designed system achieved better performance rather than the pre...
